Nic Salts vs Shortfills Explained

The two main types of e-liquid suit different setups — here's how to choose.

Nic salts (10ml)

Made with nicotine salt for a smoother throat hit even at high strengths (10–20mg). Best in pod kits and other low-power devices. Fast, cigarette-like satisfaction — the go-to for new switchers and all-day vapers.

Shortfills (50ml/100ml)

Larger bottles of nicotine-free e-liquid with space to add nicotine shots. Usually high-VG, designed for sub-ohm kits and tanks that produce more vapour. Once mixed, a 50ml shortfill plus one 18mg shot gives roughly 3mg strength.

Quick rule of thumb

Small pod kit, mouth-to-lung style → nic salts. Bigger sub-ohm kit, direct-to-lung clouds → shortfills. Not sure what your device is? Get in touch and we'll tell you.
